Golden Valley Tree Sale Lottery: How to Participate and What to Expect 

  • This is a lottery style tree sale. This means you will register for the opportunity to purchase a tree. Those selected will be able to purchase their tree after the close of the registration period.  
  • The lottery registration will run from March 1st, 2024 to April 12th, 2024. 
  • Trees are $80 each. If you are located within an Environmental Justice Priority Area, you will automatically be considered for a discount reducing the price to $40 each (this is available to 25 residents). This cost share was made possible with funding provided by the City and its Environmental Commission.  
  • Purchase is limited to one tree per Golden Valley address.  
  • Read the TREE SALE FAQ before proceeding, to learn how the sale works and related policies. 
  • Trees will be available for pick up May 30th, 2024 or May 31st from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Lions Park: 151 Louisiana  Ave N, Golden Valley.

  •  Things to consider: 

    • Large shade trees should be planted at least 15 feet from streets, power lines and/or buildings. 
    • Save money on energy by planting large shade trees on the east or west side of your home. 
    • Trees range in size from 4-7′ tall, depending on the species. Please plan accordingly. 
    • There is no warrenty on the trees provided through this program.
